for the board and individual directors.
Helping
5 small rural hospitals to survive
|
We
were engaged by a state government agency to assist
5 closely located, small, struggling rural hospitals
to find a basis for a 'last ditch' effort to survive.
The
programme entailed strengthening the governing
capacity of the boards, assisting directors of
two hospitals to prepare for the appointment of
a new CEO and helping the boards to overcome resistance
to forming collaborate working relationships with
each other.
Working
closely with a management consultant we partnered
the boards in what will be a long-term relationship
as they each make critical strategic decisions,
decisions that will inevitably have a significant
impact on the small towns in which each hospital
is based.
